Baseball

The baseball team was able to get a split against ODAC opponent Emory & Henry, dropping the first game 16-13 before winning the nightcap 4-1. Sophomore Bailey Hall pitched EMU’s first nine-inning complete game in four years in the victory. The Royals now sit at 11-11 on the season and 2-5 in the ODAC. The team’s next game is today as they take on Southern Virginia (9-8).

Softball

The softball team was also able to get a split over the weekend against another ODAC opponent as they won their first game 2-0 in eight innings before dropping the second game 8-0 in six innings against Roanoke. Junior Sydney Reath hit a walk-off, two-run home run in the victory for the only scoring. The Royals are now 13-5 on the season and 1-1 in the ODAC. The team’s next games will be today against Virginia Wesleyan (20-0, 2-0 ODAC) in a doubleheader.

Men’s Volleyball

The men’s volleyball team was also able to get a split over the weekend, dropping their first match to Rutgers-Newark 3-2 before beating Mt. St. Vincent 3-0. Senior William Ragland had 15 kills in the victory. The Royals are now 19-10 on the season and 8-4 in the conference. The team’s next match will be Friday, April 6 at #4 Kean University (25-2).

Track & Field

Athletes from the track & field teams competed in the Jack Toms Invitational over the weekend in Lynchburg. Senior Connor Faint ran his first outdoor 400 meter, and finished seventh with a time of 50.33. First-year Chelsea Brubaker highlighted EMU’s efforts in the women’s 400 meter, taking fifth and winning her heat in 1:02.19. The teams’ next event will be Friday, April 6 at the VertKlasse Meeting in High Point, N.C.
