As Fall 2025 comes to a close, so does another semester of the Weather Vane. This semester was a successful one, as most semesters are (we have a pretty great staff). With Caleb and myself (Peyton) working tirelessly, experiencing the occasional late-night production or technical difficulty with Adobe, we were able to produce history. I’m pretty proud of us–if I do say so myself.

Since this was my first time being Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Weather Vane, I had quite the learning curve. Undertaking this leadership position, as well as being a part of the Arts Club’s leadership team, getting my first-ever article published in The Harrisonburg Citizen, and maintaining my job at Massanutten Resort, I definitely had my hands full. But it was all worth it. I love our community here at the Weather Vane. I have found unsuspecting friends and made memories that will last my lifetime. While I may not be returning as a Co-Editor-in-Chief in the spring, readers can expect to see my name sprinkled throughout the paper next semester, returning to my original title of “staff writer.” I’ll most likely be writing about my opinions on the various financial situations in the United States, or my strong opinions on the actions of humans… Or I may catch myself writing about an event, though they aren’t my forte. No matter what, I hope you’ll pick up a paper and learn a thing or two.

This was my (Caleb) second semester as Co-Editor-in-Chief here at the paper, and what a semester to come back to after my intercultural abroad last spring. We had quite a bit of transition to work through in the first couple of weeks, but we were able to pass the challenges with flying colors. I am really proud of the leadership team we were able to build (thank you managers!), and ecstatic of the staff we were able to assemble to make this thing happen. As a continuation of the transitions we have experienced as an organization, I will be back co-editing again in the spring, and I look forward to the adventures to come. A lot of things happened this semester, and a lot more will happen in the spring; that is just the nature of the world we live in. Thank you for indulging in my share of the editorials regarding a number of these events. I hope my words were able to provide some new insight or perspective into the happenings of our world, may they give you the courage to never stop fighting for a better tomorrow.

Though the semester is coming to an end and the Weather Vane staff is changing, we want to wish everyone a happy holiday season and we look forward to the greatness that is to come for our organization next semester. To our new and returning staff: keep digging, keep working hard, and keep being yourself.

Thank you for reading the Weather Vane. We’ll catch you on the flip side.
