By now, we’ve all seen the AI image of our good ol’ president depicted as a “Christ-like” figure, healing a man while onlookers stand behind him with various expressions of awe. Soft white light surrounds him and spills from his hands. A woman raises her hands in prayer. The U.S. flag flaps in the background beside the Statue of Liberty.

The picture came after a back-and-forth with Pope Leo about the war on Iran. Why is the U.S. President arguing with the Pope, you ask? Beats me, but apparently this isn’t the first time this has happened. He claimed he thought the picture was depicting him as a doctor. Sure. It’s bad enough we have a president making Twitter essays full of grammatical errors every week; now we have a president making ridiculous AI photos and pretending he doesn’t know what they mean.

This isn’t even the first controversial picture Trump has posted and then deleted; during Black History Month, he pasted the Obamas’ faces onto a video about gorillas. His supporters went blue in the face defending him on that image, by the way, saying that it was a “joke,” and “all in good fun.” Except, nobody with two brain cells could possibly think that obviously racially motivated image was just fun and games, especially the president of the country that benefited the most from the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.

But this image had a surprising amount of backlash. I say “surprising” because his supporters would let him get away with murder if he killed their firstborn in front of them. Other than backlash from religious groups and churches, a good chunk of Trump’s supporters took to social media and expressed how “disappointed” and “sad” they were about their favorite person making such a blasphemous image.

My question is, this is seriously where y’all draw your line? When he makes an AI picture of himself pretending to be Jesus? Now, even as a person who isn’t very religious, I could see the image was disrespectful, but it’s far from the most disrespectful thing he’s done. Compared to what he’s already admitted to and been caught doing and saying, this is probably the dumbest thing for people to stake their limit on.

Y’all happily supported his 34 felonies? You looked past him saying he’d date his daughter if she wasn’t his daughter? Or that one video where they tour his old house, and she freezes up and looks terrified when she sees her old room and bed? You could look past that? You can ignore his blatantly racist policies, him giving ICE free rein to do whatever they want, this stupid genocide, all of his unconstitutional decisions that Congress just lets happen, and probably the worst of it, being named, referenced, emailed, and photographed in the freaking Epstein files? THIS is where y’all draw the line?

People were online talking about how they were giving him “three strikes,” and this was the first or third. Genuinely, what are we talking about anymore? It reminds me of that one meme where the lady goes, “I can ignore racism, but I draw the line at animal cruelty,” and the other woman goes, “You can excuse racism?” That’s what this feels like.
